BIKINI WORDS at CineGlobe Film Festival

Posted on Mar 20, 2017

CineGlobe at CERN selects BIKINI WORDS by Nils Clauss as part of their official competition for the 7th Edition of their international film festival.

CineGlobe aims “to challenge the perceived divisions between science and the art by demonstrating that they are both essential to interpreting our world. The festival investigates both science in art and art in science, convinced that science, just like art, is an integral part of our culture, and it must be nourished and explored the same way as the other parts of our culture.

While CineGlobe celebrate its 10th anniversary (and seventh edition), “the festival addresses a theme which is crucial in this day and age – the blurring of the line between fact and fiction. Political, Social, and Scientific, this edition – titled Myths and Realities – will underline the importance of information and rationality in addressing the challenges that face our world. Our survival depends on our efforts to combat the increasingly anti-scientific attitudes which surround our modern day political discussion.

BIKINI WORDS focuses on new vocabulary, which evolved amongst factory workers during the rapid industrialisation of South Korea throughout the 1970s and 1980s in order to put names to the radically new aspects of their urbanised lives.

As the winner of the Best Short Documentary at the Liverpool Lift-Off Film Festival 2016 and the 2016 Season Awards, BIKINI WORDS continues it’s journey and will be presented as part of the “Responsibility” programme at CineGlobe during the festival period of March 21-26, 2017.

The film will screen on Wednesday the 22nd of March 2017 at 6pm and on Sunday the 26th of March 2017 at 12:30pm at the Globe of Science and Innovation – Square Galileo Galilei, Route de Meyrin 385, 1217 Meyrin, Switzerland.

Bikini Words screens in Budapest

Posted on Mar 3, 2017

The Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre selects BIKINI WORDS by Nils Clauss to be part of their line up of the 9th Budapest Architecture Film Days in March 2017!

As mentioned on their homepage “the festival presents a wide selection of films, focusing on storytelling and personal relationships with the city, presenting buildings in an elusive and subjective manner. The festival distinguishes itself as the first and biggest architecture-related film festival of Central Europe. Disappearing old neighbourhoods, renamed streets, new districts, the conflicts and contrasts of the street or the newly found multiculturalism of Central European cities – all provide a sharp lens to interpret social changes. The selection does not only offer new viewpoints to look at these changes, they also help our understanding of urban transformation and architectural processes in the region.”

As the winner of the Best Short Documentary at the Liverpool Lift-Off Film Festival 2016 and the 2016 Season Awards, BIKINI WORDS continues it’s journey and will be presented on the 5th of March 2017 in Budapest.

The film will be screened on Sunday the 5th of March 2017 at 15:00 at Toldi Mozi – Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út 36-38., Budapest, Hungary, 1054.
