The POWER FROM THE PEOPLE series is being published in the current issue of OPEN MANIFESTO. The photographs have been taken in summer 2011 in Tokyo and are linked to the Fukushima aftermath. OPEN MANIFESTO is a journal of critical writing on graphic design culture. OPEN MANIFESTO sits at the intersection between visual communications, media, politics, culture, economics and social issues. Each issue of OPEN MANIFESTO is devoted to a specific theme and seeks to explore the wider relationship graphic design has with society; how design influences society and how society influences design. It is the first, and currently the only, journal of its kind based in Australia and was founded in 2003 by award-winning graphic designer Kevin Finn.
Nils Clauss was kindly invited as a keynote speaker at the TEDx Seoul event. The theme set for this fourth TEDxSeoul event was 장(場), or PAN in Korean, meaning Places where all things happen. Nils did a presentation on the topic RETURN, related to some of his photography and film work. The TEDx Seoul event took place last Sunday (May 27, 2012) at the amazing Seodaemoon Art Hall in downtown Seoul. The venue was sold out to an audience of 500 people. The biggest appreciation goes out to all the organizers of the event and the incredible crowd!
